November 15, 2019 - November 17, 2019 at 7:30 pm

Location: New Expressive Works 810 SE Belmont, PDX 97214 [In the WYSE Buliding.]

(Work-in-Progress) Control/Power by Unit Souzou: How have I been othered? How have I othered myself? How have I othered others? Unit Souzou’s Professional ensemble team of Michelle Fujii, Toru Watanabe, Ian Berve and Victoria Zhang present a work-in-progress piece weaving stories, identities of people and place through dance/taiko.

Confetto: a singular piece of Confetti by Meshi Chavez: This A solo embracing the human conditions of longing and belonging. With only a suitcase, a balloon, and a map we follow a man searching for a pathway through the landscapes of otherness. Sometimes being lost in the past, and not knowing the future, leads to the poignant realization that our beauty is truly found in the here and now. Meshi is joined by composer and performer Lisa DeGrace.

Meshi Chavez is the cofounder of Momentum Conscious Movement in Portland Or. He teaches workshops and class locally and Internationally. His mentors include Denise Fujiwara and Natsu Nakajima. meshichavez.com

(Excerpt) Listening to Silence by Subashini Ganesan: There are moments of silence that stand outside of time yet flash by leaving an indelible imprint on the fragile vision of reality we try to maintain. There is power in listening and responding to these eternal moments. Ganesan presents an excerpt from her upcoming evening length performance in January 2020.
